1. Booking & Payment
- All bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
- A booking is only confirmed once payment has been received and a confirmation email has been issued.
- Customers are responsible for ensuring that all booking details are correct, including the travel date, tour selected, passenger names, contact details, and number of passengers.
2. Arrival & Check-In
- Please arrive at our booking office at Portmagee Marina at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.
- Late arrivals may miss their tour. Missed departures due to late arrival are treated as no-shows and are non-refundable.
- If you are running late, please contact us immediately on +353 (87) 617 8114. While we cannot guarantee that we can delay the tour, if you are only a few minutes behind the scheduled departure time we will do our best to accommodate you where possible. This will always depend on operational and safety requirements.
3. Departure Times
- All departure times are approximate and may change due to weather, sea conditions, tides, operational requirements, harbour restrictions, or instructions from the harbour authorities or the Office of Public Works (OPW) for Landing Tours.
- Customers must ensure they are available for any revised departure time. Where possible, any changes will be communicated using the contact details provided at the time of booking.
4. Weather & Sea Conditions
- Passenger safety is always our highest priority.
- All tours operate subject to suitable weather and sea conditions.
- The skipper's decision regarding whether a tour operates is final.
5. Tour Changes & Cancellations
We reserve the right to alter, shorten, delay, substitute, reschedule, or cancel any tour due to:
- Weather or sea conditions
- Safety concerns
- Harbour restrictions
- Operational requirements
- Mechanical issues
- Instructions from the Office of Public Works (OPW) or other relevant authorities
- Any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control
Some tours require a minimum number of passengers to operate. If the minimum number is not met, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the tour.
Where possible, an alternative tour or departure time will be offered. If we cancel your tour and no suitable alternative can be provided, a full refund of the amount paid will be issued.
6. Customer Cancellations
Skellig Michael Landing Tour
- Cancellations made 14 days or more before departure will receive a full refund, excluding any non-refundable booking fees where applicable.
- Cancellations made within 14 days of departure are non-refundable.
- Failure to attend your scheduled tour, also known as a no-show, is non-refundable.
- Booking dates and times cannot be changed within the cancellation period unless agreed at our discretion.
All Other Tours
- Cancellations made 7 days or more before departure will receive a full refund, excluding any non-refundable booking fees where applicable.
- Cancellations made within 7 days of departure are non-refundable.
- Failure to attend your scheduled tour, also known as a no-show, is non-refundable.
- Booking dates and times cannot be changed within the cancellation period unless agreed at our discretion.
Booking fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.
7. Skellig Michael Landing Tours
- Landing Tours operate under licence from the Office of Public Works (OPW).
- Landing on Skellig Michael is entirely subject to the OPW permitting landings on the day.
- The OPW, skipper, or boat operator may cancel or alter the Landing Tour at any time if weather or sea conditions are considered unsafe.
- Departure times and tour durations may vary depending on conditions.
- All passengers must follow the instructions of the skipper, crew, and OPW island guides at all times.
8. Age & Fitness Requirements
- Passengers must be 12 years of age or older on the day of travel to participate in the Skellig Michael Landing Tour.
- All other tours have no minimum age requirement; however, children must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult.
- Landing on Skellig Michael involves climbing 618 uneven stone steps without handrails and requires a good level of fitness and mobility.
- Passengers are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to participate in their chosen tour. If you have any medical condition or reduced mobility that may affect your ability to safely participate, please contact us before booking.
- Passengers who are pregnant should consult their doctor before travelling. Participation is entirely at the passenger's own discretion.
- Landing Tour passengers must wear sturdy, closed-toe footwear. Sandals, flip-flops, Crocs, and other unsuitable footwear are not permitted.
- Passengers participate in all tours at their own risk.
9. Passenger Responsibilities
Passengers agree to:
- Follow all instructions given by the skipper and crew.
- Wear lifejackets when instructed.
- Behave responsibly and respectfully towards crew, other passengers, wildlife, and the environment.
- Not interfere with the safe operation of the vessel.
- Supervise children in their care at all times.
We reserve the right to refuse boarding or terminate a passenger's trip without refund if they are intoxicated, abusive, behave in a threatening manner, fail to follow safety instructions, or if their behaviour is likely to endanger themselves, other passengers, or the crew.
10. Wildlife
Wildlife sightings, including puffins, dolphins, whales, seals, basking sharks, and seabirds, cannot be guaranteed. Nature is unpredictable, and sightings vary throughout the season.
11. Accessibility
Please contact us before booking if you have reduced mobility or accessibility requirements. We will do our best to advise whether a particular tour is suitable for your needs.
12. Personal Property
Passengers are responsible for their own personal belongings. We accept no responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage of personal property before, during, or after the tour.
13. Photography & Marketing
Photographs and videos may occasionally be taken during our tours for promotional and marketing purposes. If you do not wish to appear in any photographs or videos, please inform a member of the crew before departure.
14. Liability
Boat travel and outdoor activities involve inherent risks. By participating in our tours, passengers acknowledge these risks and agree to follow all safety instructions provided by the skipper and crew.
While every reasonable care is taken, we shall not be liable for any loss, injury, delay, inconvenience, or damage arising from adverse weather, sea conditions, natural events, harbour restrictions, government regulations, mechanical issues, or any other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing within these Terms & Conditions limits any statutory rights afforded to consumers under Irish law.
15. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland.
